NextCrime service document

Terms of Service

Version dated 13 July 2026. In case of discrepancies, the Polish version (Regulamin) prevails.

These Terms govern the use of the NextCrime website available at https://next-crime.pl (the "Service"), operated by NEXT REAL Sp. z o.o., registered office: ul. Gdańska 13, 50-334 Wrocław, Polska, entered in the Polish register of entrepreneurs (KRS) under no. 0001242343, tax ID (NIP) 8982334148, REGON 544812952 (the "Provider"). Contact: kontakt@next-crime.pl.

1. Definitions

  • Service — the NextCrime website with all its pages and features.
  • User — any person using the Service; a registered User is a person holding an Account.
  • Account — the set of resources and rights assigned to a User upon registration, enabling saving of progress and access to purchased content.
  • Case — a single online detective game (digital content) made available in the Service, free of charge or for a fee.
  • Consumer — a User acting as a consumer within the meaning of applicable law, including EU consumer protection law.

2. Nature of the service

The Service provides online detective games in which the User analyses fictionalised case files and answers investigative questions. Case plots are fiction inspired by real events; names, places and details have been changed. Materials presented within Cases (documents, photographs, recordings) are narrative props and do not constitute genuine official documents.

The Service is intended for adults and for persons over 16 using it with the consent of a legal guardian. Case content may include descriptions of violence and death.

3. Technical requirements

Use of the Service requires a device with internet access, a current web browser with JavaScript and cookies/localStorage enabled, and — for registered Users — an active e-mail address or a Google account.

The Provider makes reasonable efforts to keep the Service available but reserves the right to technical interruptions necessary for maintenance or development.

4. Account

Registration is free and voluntary and takes place by providing an e-mail address or authenticating with a Google account. The Account agreement is concluded upon registration for an indefinite period.

The User must provide true information and must not share the Account with third parties. One Account is assigned to one User.

The User may terminate the Account agreement (delete the Account) at any time — in the Account settings or by writing to kontakt@next-crime.pl. Deleting the Account does not entitle the User to a refund for purchased Cases, subject to mandatory provisions of law and the Refund Policy.

The Provider may terminate the Account agreement for valid reasons, in particular gross violation of these Terms, with 14 days' notice — or without notice where the violation threatens the security of the Service or other Users.

5. Free and paid Cases

Some Cases are available free of charge. Access to paid Cases requires a one-off fee indicated in the Service before purchase. Prices include VAT where applicable.

Access to a purchased Case is assigned to the Account and remains active indefinitely, and in any event for no less than 24 months from purchase. If the Service is to be discontinued, the Provider will notify Users at least 3 months in advance.

Payments are handled by external payment operators. Depending on the configuration of the Service, the seller of the digital content may be Paddle acting as merchant of record (reseller), or the Provider with payment processed by Stripe. The identity of the seller and the payment operator is displayed each time before purchase.

6. Delivery of digital content and right of withdrawal

A purchased Case is made available on the Account immediately after the payment is confirmed.

The Consumer expressly consents to the supply of the digital content before the expiry of the 14-day withdrawal period and acknowledges that, upon the start of the supply (the Case being made available on the Account), the Consumer loses the right of withdrawal — in accordance with Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU and Article 38(1)(13) of the Polish Consumer Rights Act. This consent is given explicitly during checkout.

Detailed refund rules, including voluntary refunds, are set out in the Refund Policy available in the Service.

7. Complaints

Complaints regarding the Service or purchased Cases may be submitted to kontakt@next-crime.pl, with a description of the issue and information identifying the User or the order.

The Provider responds to complaints within 14 days of receipt, to the e-mail address from which the complaint was sent unless another address is indicated.

Where digital content does not conform with the contract, the Consumer has the statutory remedies provided by EU and Polish consumer law, including bringing the content into conformity and, subsequently, price reduction or withdrawal from the contract.

8. Intellectual property

All content of the Service — including plots, texts of narrative documents, graphics, recordings and software — is the property of the Provider or its licensors and is protected by copyright.

Upon obtaining access to a Case, the User is granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it solely for personal purposes. Publicly sharing Case content, including solutions and answers, in a way that allows third parties to use them outside the Service, is prohibited.

9. Acceptable use

  • providing unlawful content is prohibited,
  • actions disrupting the operation of the Service, including attempts at unauthorised access, are prohibited,
  • using the Service in a way that infringes the rights of other Users or third parties is prohibited.

10. Liability

The Provider is liable for non-performance or improper performance of the contract on general terms. Towards Users who are not Consumers, the Provider's liability is limited to actual damage and capped at the fees paid by the User in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the damage.

Cases are entertainment. The Provider is not liable for decisions made by Users on the basis of narrative content.

11. Amendments

The Provider may amend these Terms for valid reasons, in particular changes in law, in the Service's features or in the payment model. Registered Users will be notified by e-mail at least 14 days before amendments take effect. Amendments do not affect acquired rights, including access to purchased Cases.

A User who does not accept the amendments may terminate the Account agreement before they take effect.

12. Final provisions

These Terms are governed by Polish law; this choice does not deprive Consumers of the protection afforded by mandatory provisions of the law of their country of habitual residence.

Consumers may use out-of-court complaint and redress mechanisms available in their jurisdiction.

The Privacy Policy and the Refund Policy form an integral part of the rules of using the Service.
